' Look Closer ' - Notes
The writer Thomas Berry states that the ideal in all endevors is to hold the most tension possible creatively. Here I wanted to draw as well as possible yet be fluid with the liquid medium. The drawing and painting techniques contrast but play against one another - hopefully. The theme is very neutral as the main objective is to explore how we see - it is not an abstraction nor a photographic representation in this series. Some questions: Do we impose or imagine boundaries around objects which really are not there? What is the need for and extent of these boundaries?
These are not strictly inquires about materials, techniques or 'art' but one of life too.
